What to consider when transferring domain to 1and1.com

1. 1and1.com DOES NOT offer SPF (Sender Policy Framework) for SMTP shared server email.

2. Email Spoofing can become a serious problem overnight. My research as concluded that apart from changing password (which does not seem to help), SPF (Sender Policy Framework) seems to be the only defense; unless one wants to pay more for dedicated server or Exchange hosting.

3. You will be locked in for 60 days! ICANN transfer policy reads:

A domain name is within 60 days (or a lesser period to be determined) after being transferred (apart from being transferred back to the original Registrar in cases where both Registrars so agree and/or where a decision in the dispute resolution process so directs).

Closing comments: My decision to use 1and1.com rather than GoDaddy.com was WordPress driven; GoDaddy.com now overs WordPress hosting. In several years with GoDaddy.com my email was never spoofed; since transferring domain and email to 1and1.com around 30 days ago my email is spoofed weekly.
